Nassau, Bahamas
First we had a short educational orientation, learning a number of things about sea lions, their training and their habitats, and the differences between sea lions and seals. Then we got to meet two of them up close, five-year-old Jack and four-year-old Charlotte, getting a chance to feed them and receive hugs and kisses from each.
After that we got into the water to interact with Maggie, a 17 year old who showed off her many skills, and we were able to witness how fast a sea lion can swim, up to 25 miles an hour. Maggie was quite a ham, playful and affectionate, as were the other sea lions, and we thoroughly enjoyed our Sea Lion Encounter.
