Greece and Turkey: December 2007 - January 2008
A winter trip to Greece and Turkey with a small group from our church, led by Professor Carl Toney and Pastor Lisa Toney, combined the historical and cultural aspects of these two countries with the biblical journeys of the Apostle Paul. Stepping back thousands of years in time, we explored the Parthenon and other buildings of the Acropolis in Athens, the hanging monasteries of Meteora, and the ancient city of Ephesus, which contains the largest collection of Roman ruins in the eastern Mediterranean. From the cruise to three of the Saronic Islands, to days spent in fascinating, exotic Istanbul, we were continually enchanted by the entire trip.
