The Bahamas
After arriving by tender at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line's private island since 1977, we boarded a boat to Stingray City, a shallow area where we'd be able to swim with stingrays. On the way, our guide gave us information about these gentle and graceful creatures and described how to approach and handle them. The ray's “sting” is a bony spine in the tail that cannot be used in an offensive manner. The ray uses it strictly as a defensive tool to protect itself from predators while sleeping or relaxing.

Interacting with stingrays was an incredible experience! We had a chance to hold them, feed them and take lots of photos!
After our stingray experience we had lunch on the beach and some time to relax on a lounge chair with our books.
