Slovakia
We drove through eastern Slovakia, stopping in the town of Levoča. After a delicious chicken lunch at Reštaurácia U 3 Apoštolov (The Three Apostles), we had some time to explore the town, which is known for its three major monuments; the quaint 15th-17th century old Town Hall, which now contains a museum, the domed 19th century Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the 14th century Roman Catholic Church of St. James, which contains the largest altarpiece in the world.
As we left charming Levoča, heading towards Hungary, we passed through many villages and often saw a distinctive feature, stork nests on top of buildings or poles, sometimes with the storks "at home" and feeding their young.
