Croatia
We left Budapest for Croatia, stopping for a picnic lunch on the terrace of Zelengaj, a restaurant in a lovely setting.
We met the bus for the 3 hour ride to Rab, stopping at Macola, a cafeteria style restaurant where we tried čevapčići, a Croatian specialty made of grilled meats. Then we were on our way to the ferry dock and the ride to Rab Island, on the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia. We checked into the Hotel
Ros Maris, ready to spend two days of leisure in this beautiful resort area.
We
walked around the town, shopped for shell jewelry and souvenirs, and tried a local specialty for lunch, a burek, which was phyllo dough filled with spinach. The group enjoyed a fun evening having dinner together at Konoba Rab. Our relaxing stay on Rab Island ended all too soon, but more adventures were ahead as we took the ferry back to the mainland and left for Slovenia.
