Cozumel, Mexico
A sunshiny day and a beautiful blue sky greeted us in Cozumel on our first port day. The largest inhabited island in Mexico and the oldest in the Caribbean group, Cozumel is located 12 miles off the eastern coast of the mainland.
We leisurely strolled the sidewalks along the waterfront next to the whitewashed seawall, browsed in the shops, and discovered a gem of a restaurant for lunch. The highlight for Sandi was the opportunity to swim with dolphins. They are such incredible creatures and being able to get up close to them was both a privilege and a treat.

After lunch we headed to Dolphinaris for Sandi's dolphin encounter. Within each section of the pool, about 10 people were grouped with a trainer and two dolphins. Each participant had a chance to pet, kiss, and belly swim with a dolphin. The dolphins performed other tricks, and at the end of our session, all of the dolphins in the pool came together for several amazing leaps.
From Dolphinaris, we walked back to the dock and had a little time to browse and shop before returning to the ship.
