Arenal
From Dreams we traveled by van to La Fortuna, stopping for lunch at Plaza Del Café in Tilarán. We had casado, Costa Rica's most common dish. The word casado literally means "married" and refers to a dish with a little bit of everything on the plate: rice, beans, salad, meat or fish, plantains, tortillas, and sometimes an egg.

After lunch in La Fortuna we took the Rainforest Chocolate Tour. Our guide, Valeria, explained the origin and history of chocolate. We had hands-on lessons in the production steps: harvesting, drying, roasting and grinding.
At Nayara, we enjoyed Latin Grill dinner night at their Altamira Restaurant, with live music by the Pachanga Boys.
